Project Highlight

Bayer Becker's expertise in university design continues with Sinclair's newest building.  The scope of this project included renovation of an existing building and construction of a 4,300 SF addition on a lot adjacent to Sinclair’s existing Mason, Ohio campus. The new building provides classroom, laboratory, and office facilities for students and faculty.

Bayer Becker collaborated with the university and project architect to create a master plan for the two sites that would maximize pedestrian and vehicular circulation between them, while maintaining a student gathering space in the middle. Bayer Becker led the zoning variance approval process and produced construction drawings for site demolition, pavement design, site utilities, site grading, and landscaping. A bio-retention basin (rain garden) was implemented to capture surface runoff and promote infiltration into existing soils. Bayer Becker’s team worked with several sub-consultants during design, including coordination with Heapy Engineering on the layout of pedestrian and vehicle lighting.
