Project Highlight
Liberty Center will significantly shape the Greater Cincinnati and tri-state area for years to come. Bayer Becker provided multi-discipline design services on the 64 acre, 1.2 million square foot mixed use town center over several years. A project of this size involves multiple consultants and throughout the design and construction process Bayer Becker collaborated closely with multiple architects, developers and tenants to transform the vision of the center into a feasible and functional design. Prior to construction Bayer Becker worked to expand the usable ground for phase I by assisting with stream evaluation and mitigation. Once the initial site design was completed Bayer Becker coordinated and modified the design to satisfy tenant requested improvements during construction. Assistance with the site and building permitting, including special permits for the overall site, roadway lighting and building utility services was also provided.
Because of Liberty Center’s overall density, maximizing space was essential. Bayer Becker’s design included a water management system beneath the parking garages that collects and reuses storm water runoff in various parts of the project. This modification reduced requirements for temporary pumping. Grading and drainage design for the various parks and open spaces was also vital to allow for year round enjoyment by visitors. In addition to the actual site, Bayer Becker also provided design for off-site features including waterline and storm water improvements. Our transportation department provided improvements to the I-75 and SR 129 entrances including lane additions, re-striping and traffic control on Liberty Way. When completed, Liberty Center will provide a regional draw with upscale site amenities, storefronts, restaurants and living units that will help spur development along Interstate 75 as well as the area around the interchange.
