Get Ahead of the Changing ALTA Requirements

The industry’s first comprehensive rewrite of the Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys will become effective on February 23, 2011.

As of that date, all previous versions of the Standards, including the current 2005 version, will be superseded by the new document. The original standards were developed in 1962 by the American Land Title Association and the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, and have been updated several times since then. The purpose of these standards are to aid title insurance companies when asked to insure title to land without exceptions that might be discovered during the course of a survey.
