Project Highlight
The Center of Cincinnati showcased Bayer Becker’s capabilities in large scale design. The 58 acre project was redeveloped into a big box retail site with multiple outlots. Bayer Becker’s grading and utility design expertise were vital in making the project a success.
Phase one of the project featured Target, Meijer, and Sam’s Club and gave Bayer Becker the opportunity to showcase our site design expertise. Prior to construction, Bayer Becker’s design team provided extensive grading on the project’s northern corner to raise the elevation to accommodate Sam’s Club. Surrounded on all sides, the site lacked sufficient area for above ground detention. Consequently, two large underground basins were designed and installed to manage the storm water runoff. Additionally, an existing combined sewer that ran diagonally through the project was relocated to provide the necessary space for the Sam's Club building, thus making the project viable.
Bayer Becker also provided design services on two subsequent phases that included three additional big box tenants and a restaurant. As with Phase One, underground detention was designed and installed. Bayer Becker also provided traffic improvements including a new signal.
