Project Highlight
The roadway improvements near the Christ Hospital Medical Office Building in Green Township exemplify how Bayer Becker’s Transportation Department can help when modifications are necessary. Years ago a traffic signal was planned and installed at a nearby intersection. However, it was later removed by the County due to insufficient traffic volumes. When Christ Hospital began construction of their new building, Bayer Becker re-evaluated the traffic signal warrants incorporating the development and determined that a traffic signal would indeed be warranted. After approval from the County, Bayer Becker completed additional research for the signal design. In an effort to save design dollars, Bayer Becker contacted the original traffic signal engineer and secured permission to utilize their plans as approved by the County.
In addition to the signal, Bayer Becker provided roadway design for the new building including a right turn lane. During construction of the right turn lane, an existing underground gas line caused potential issues. However, by reducing the right turn lane storage length Bayer Becker was able to avoid the issue altogether.
Bayer Becker’s experience with the Hamilton County Engineer’s regulations and requirements was important to the successful planning, design and construction of the Christ Hospital’s new facility. This experience combined with our familiarity of the project area and functionality of the adjacent roadway led to a project that will help ease congestion and increase safety for its users.
