Project Highlight
As the city of Mason and Warren County have grown, the need to alleviate traffic congestion and improve safety in the area has become more necessary. In an effort to help ease congestion, Bayer Becker provided services on one of the main roads leading into the city, Tylersville Road. Bayer Becker completed traffic counts and traffic analysis including turn lane storage length calculations and signal warrant analysis for the intersection of Tylersville Road and Fireside Drive. Based on the results of the analysis, several turn lanes and roadway widening were necessary. As a result of the widening, Bayer Becker worked closely with Duke Energy to coordinate the relocation of utility poles, and with Cincinnati Water Works to coordinate the relocation of the water main. In addition to the widening, a median was placed on Tylersville Road at a nearby right in/right out driveway to provide access management and to further improve safety along Tylersville Road.
As part of our project management, Bayer Becker worked with the adjacent property owners, both commercial and residential, regarding drainage issues and the relocation of their driveways. Meetings were also held with the Warren County Engineer’s Office and City of Mason to keep them up to date on the project’s status.
Our proximity to the project and our status as resident of the city and county gave us a familiarity with the roadway and area conditions that other firms didn’t offer. This familiarity combined with our Transportation department’s expertise resulted in a project that achieved the city and county’s goals of less congestion and greater safety.
