Project Highlight
Bayer Becker provided design services on the four story, 286,000 square foot headquarters of Luxottica Retail, a division of Milan, Italy based Luxottica. The 43 acre facility featured an aggressive timetable moving from design phase to project occupancy in a record 24 months. In addition to the short project delivery timeline, other items posed challenges. Underdrains were used to help with drainage near the landscape buffer separating the project from the adjacent residential development and issues with regulated streams on the site posed further challenges.
For the grounds of the site Bayer Becker’s designs included pedestrian bridges and walking paths for the employees. Over the years Bayer Becker has provided services on an addition to the original building, increasing the building’s overall square footage to more than 400,000 square feet. Bayer Becker also provided design services including drainage design for several parking lot additions.
