Project Highlight
While still in the design phase, the Butler County Regional Transit Authority’s Multi-Modal Station will provide a one-stop transfer location for BCRTA services in Oxford, as well as connections to Middletown and Hamilton, OH. Located at the former site of Talawanda High School, the station will include a passenger waiting area, public restrooms, bike storage, customer service facilities, intermodal transfer bays, and a proposed Amtrak access.
Bayer Becker is providing surveying, landscape architecture, and civil engineering services from the Oxford office, located just down the street from the site. Land surveying services for the project include a boundary and topographic survey of the project site, preparation of easement legal descriptions and exhibits for lease negotiations and utility as-built drawings for post-project records. Landscape architecture services for the project include design of site hardscape features including site walls and fixtures, pedestrian scale lighting, site entryway signage and decorative paving details. Landscape architecture services also include preparation plant palettes and detailed site planting plans. Civil engineering services for the project include vehicle turning analysis to confirm site layout geometry, utility design for storm water, sanitary and water infrastructure, site grading design and design of low impact development features including rainwater harvesting. This project requires a high level of collaboration with the City of Oxford, Miami University, and a number of consultants who are concurrently designing the adjacent Amtrak station.
