Project Highlight
Renovations to the main branch facility are part of the $350 million long-term master plan to upgrade, rebuild, expand, and invest in the library’s facilities.
In order to create a more active and inviting space at the main branch, major improvements were made to the Vine Street plazas in front of both the north and south buildings. This included lowering the plaza in front of the south building. The new, at-grade plaza and large glass curtainwall welcome library users into the revitalized atrium. Additionally, the updates create a safer and more welcoming entrance on Vine Street. Bayer Becker’s creative grading and drainage solutions were integral to achieving this vision and ensuring a high-quality aesthetic for the plaza improvements. The Bayer Becker team also assisted with permitting through the City of Cincinnati to bring the concept to life.
