Project Highlight
Bayer Becker was responsible for reviewing the existing 7.6-acre General Ormsby Mitchel Park and developing new concepts to update the park grounds and add several new features. Prior to design, a site analysis was completed to further understand the functionality of the park and its limits of space for improvements. Design concepts were prepared in order to meet the park’s current demands while also accounting for future demands. Bayer Becker made it a priority to minimize the cost of changing how the park functions today while incorporating a new outdoor stage area for small concerts. In order to implement these changes, Bayer Becker designed new grades in specific areas around the park and added additional parking.
Bayer Becker also integrated extra multi-purpose space within the site designs for the park, which required changes in grading for all of the recreation fields and supplementary walking paths. These alterations helped create views of the park and allowed for the inclusion of an outdoor amphitheater. Our team redesigned all of the recreation fields in order to ensure optimal location and orientation for pedestrians and players. In addition to design services, Bayer Becker prepared preliminary construction costs in order to provide community leaders with relevant information to make final decisions on key park improvements.
