When Yard House USA, Inc. was looking at land development consultants for their first restaurant in downtown Cincinnati, Bayer Becker’s reputation as a site design consultant having in-fill redevelopment expertise made their selection an easy and logical one. Yard House corporate headquarters and a majority of the design team were located in California. So Bayer Becker’s extensive local experience as well as experience with the city of Cincinnati’s regulations and guidelines was heavily relied upon to deliver a successful project.
Exceptional design and smart solutions were achieved with the site grading for the in-fill project including coordination and design integration to accommodate streetscape improvements by the city’s Department of Transportation Engineering.
Bayer Becker was once again able to match beauty with cost effective functionality through discussions and coordination with Duke Energy delivering significant project savings and a more aesthetically pleasing design solution for the electric service. This was achieved by utilizing an existing underground transformer, eliminating the need for one onsite. Bayer Becker also worked with the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) to confirm the existing storm sewer capacity and that onsite detention was not required for the project.
Bayer Becker’s project management excellence was of great value to Yard House as we extensively coordinated between numerous entities including the client, property owner’s local representatives, design team, public utilities, and the City’s departments as necessary.
Finally, Bayer Becker’s ability to provide integrated multiple-disciplined design services, along with the design team’s experience with the city of Cincinnati’s regulations and guidelines, ensured a successful project that will be another key piece in the revitalization of the area known as the Banks.
