Bayer Becker’s ability to provide design services in coordination with adjacent, ongoing projects was vital for Aprecia Pharmaceutical’s new First in Class facility. Working with another firm’s survey information, providing site grading to meet the planned designs of a roadway currently under construction, and a building that was still in flux, Bayer Becker’s project team strived to unite Aprecia Pharmaceutical’s expansion desires and vision for the site while still preserving portions of the existing facility.
To help minimize off site disturbance, utilities were designed to use existing facilities when possible. If Aprecia Pharmaceuticals ever chose to expand, utilities and site grading incorporated over sizing and screening mounds which would allow for any future expansion without disturbing existing operations. Site amenities for employees and operations were also incorporated into the design. A retention pond provides site irrigation and recreation, and enlarged outdoor patio areas and public sidewalk interconnectivity give employees places to enjoy the outdoors and freely move throughout the location. Numerous vendor and shipping docks and visitor areas are additional amenities that help the site operate efficiently.
In addition to design, Bayer Becker also provided construction administration for a portion of the jobs to help ensure proper products were utilized and construction plans were updated to reflect the latest building plans. Aprecia Pharmaceuticals wanted their facility to be a model for future projects and with the design team of Bayer Becker and Process Plus they were able to achieve their goal.
