Project Highlight
Bayer Becker’s unparalleled reputation in master planning and site design within the City of Mason made us a logical choice for Schottenstein Real Estate Group’s resort style mixed-use development, Mason Grand. Once fully constructed, Mason Grand will consist of 294 resort style multi-family housing units, a clubhouse to serve as a gathering place for all residents, and over 126,000 square feet of office and retail space.
Bayer Becker worked closely with Schottenstein on a re-design of the project from the master plan down, producing a buildable set of construction documents based on previous submittals. The re-design worked to balance the built and natural environments to develop a densely clustered project that responds not only to the client’s desires but also the physical/natural features of the site including existing waterways, wetlands and wooded areas. In addition to design Bayer Becker acted as the project manager through the design and construction documentation phases and worked closely with the on-site construction manager. Even though we were initially retained as only the master planner and landscape architects for the project, our dedication to a holistic multi-disciplinary design approach allowed us to identify and address difficult design issues at an early stage; resulting in significant savings to the client. Those savings combined with our existing relationship with the City of Mason and intrinsic knowledge of the approval process allowed the project to be completed in a timely and efficient manner all while seamlessly integrating a resort style multi-family development and a retail/office development.
