Project Highlight
Bayer Becker’s experience of providing design for new facilities replacing existing facilities proved useful when the Fairfield school district constructed three new schools simultaneously. The new Fairfield Central Elementary school is located between the existing Freshman School and Fairfield’s football stadium. The new multi-level facility replaced the existing Central Elementary school.
Design for the site included a storm water management system that incorporated multiple dry wells instead of a conventional detention basin. Utility services for the new school had to be designed around the existing schools, so that it could remain operational during construction. Bayer Becker used a phased design to allow for these schedule requirements.
The new Central Elementary school is one of three new school buildings that opened before the start of the 2017-2018 school year.
