Project Highlight
Bayer Becker's design services on the first Scholar House in Northern Kentucky help lead to a more promising future for those who pass through its doors. The location in Newport has eight apartment buildings that each house six, two- and three- bedroom apartments that can accommodate 48 families and also features an on-site child development center. Bayer Becker coordinated design with Hub & Weber, the architect, Model Group, SD1, the Newport Housing Authority and Neighborhood Foundations (formerly The Housing Authority of Newport). Bayer Becker was able to save money on the project by working with SD1 standards regarding stormwater management for the project. Due to the site’s urban setting and other constraints design for the project included underwater detention.
