Project Highlight
Bayer Becker’s ability to deliver accurate designs in a short period of time helped keep the Village at Austin Landing on schedule. The project featured multiple buildings surrounding a centralized park and because the project site is surrounded by existing development, maintaining the schedule without interfering with the existing tenants was vital. Utility designs for the overall site had to be flexible to maintain service as well as accommodate the site as it evolved. As new tenants were added the design had to account for the changes. Grading for the site was another key factor. The site had to be regraded, but because of the surrounding, existing development, there was little room for error. Transportation Engineering services were also provided.
The project also included a 7.5 acre park envisioned as a central gathering space for restaurants, offices and retailers surrounding the park that will serve as a focal point for the project. The park includes an enclosed bicycle hub that accommodates 20 bicycles, lockers and a resting station, high end benches and trash receptacles, a stage, and low voltage lighting that defines pedestrian paths, accents specimen plants and adorns the multi-level water feature.
