Project Highlight
With its prime location near several local hospitals and the University of Cincinnati, The Whitfield Apartments, within the Gaslight District, were built for both young professionals and empty nesters alike. The development is one of the first new apartment buildings to be built in the Gaslight District in the past 35 years. The project includes 117 studio, one-, and two-bedroom luxury apartment units.
Bayer Becker was able to draw on past experience in the area to assist with design guidelines and permitting for the project. Navigating through the city’s zoning process was critical because the site is located within a Hillside Overlay district and multiple variances were needed for approval. Grading for proposed amenities was also a challenge due to severe topography across the site.
As part of Bayer Becker’s multi-disciplined capabilities, our landscape architecture and planning department provided design for an outdoor courtyard and common space to be used by the residents. Bayer Becker also provided LEED based consulting that led to the site receiving LEED Silver status.
