Project Highlight
Bayer Becker provided public involvement, surveying, sidewalk design, utility coordination, and right of way plans/easement document preparation for the St. Joseph Lane sidewalk project for the City of Park Hills.
The project involved the addition of sidewalk along one side of the existing two-lane local roadway. Where possible and when needed for utility coordination, a tree lawn was positioned between the existing back of curb and the proposed walk. Driveways were reconstructed when acceptable ADA cross slopes were not already provided.
Due to existing grades, modification to a run of sanitary sewer was necessary and some extended curb areas were needed to accommodate the sidewalk. While the improvements limited or minimized the impacts to adjacent property owners, temporary construction easements were ultimately required along 3 properties.
The age of the neighborhood/homes located along St. Joseph Lane required the completion of a Section 106 review, performed by KYTC with Bayer Becker’s assistance. And to meet public involvement requirements, Bayer Becker presented the project at a City Council Meeting.
Funding for the St. Joseph Lane sidewalk project was received from the Federal Highway Administration. Bayer Becker provided construction administration services during construction, leading the inspection team.
