Project Highlight
To help alleviate drainage issues in Covington, SD1 turned to Bayer Becker for multi-disciplined design services. Prior to design Bayer Becker provided a topographic survey to verify the existing drainage patterns. The survey also included the location of a lower drainage basin and associated sewers, overflow structures, spillways and other visible features. Once the drainage patterns were identified, design for the project included reshaping the roadway to divert water to the drainage way on the east side of Birch Avenue. The drainage outlet into a newly designed rain garden created by Bayer Becker’s Landscape Architecture team, that was populated with plantings that benefited from the drainage overflow.
