Project Highlight
Bayer Becker combined Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture expertise to help bring the Dayton Metro Library Main Branch into the 21st century. The challenge on this project was the urban setting which presented significant site constraints. Bayer Becker coordinated extensively with the City of Dayton to creatively overcome the constraints and simultaneously meet the program requirements. The Bayer Becker project leader was a critical component to keeping this project on its aggressive schedule. By combining these services lines under one roof, we could capitalize on efficiencies and ensure a successful project.
The library has undergone a $62 million renovation and expansion since September 2015. The project is part of the Dayton Metro Library’s system-wide Libraries for a Smarter Future improvement project which will result in 17 state-of-the-art facilities, including 11 new construction buildings. Voters approved funding for the library system overhaul. The new main branch of the Dayton Metro library is set to open in the summer of 2017.
