Project Highlight

Bayer Becker takes pride in being a consultant of choice for out-of-town developers. Our design capabilities and local knowledge were both provided at the Lindner Center of HOPE (Helping Other People Excel), a behavioral health care campus situated on 35 acres in Mason, Ohio. The project consists of 5 pods capable of serving up to 80 residents.

Design work on the project was broken into two phases. Phase I included administrative and exercise buildings and an outpatient and educational services building. Phase II included the addition of an MRI unit. Design and construction of the MRI unit took place while the facility was open and operational. As the MRI addition was not part of the original design plan, the building addition was challenging due to its location at the front entry of the facility. Bayer Becker was able to develop a plan that maintained access to the vehicular drop-off area and front pedestrian entry during construction.

In addition to the site plan design services, Bayer Becker provided design on amenities for the campus including walking trails and landscaping design for a parking lot expansion. The amenities combine with the site landscaping to help create a calm atmosphere allowing for reflection and recreation.

Communication was vital to this project. The architect, Cannon Design was located in New York and had not worked in the City of Mason. Bayer Becker led the local permitting and zoning process to make sure the project stayed on schedule and all local permitting was completed according to the agreed-upon timeline.
