Project Highlight
Communication between field crews and office staff was critical for the Deerfield Road water main. Bayer Becker provided design on the 16” ductile iron water transmission main for the City of Lebanon. The project consisted of two sections, a 1,100 linear feet section between W. Turtlecreek-Union Road and the State Route 48 ramp and a 2,170 linear feet section located between Navaho Drive and Cook Road.
Several utility mains exist along the length of Deerfield Road and the City of Lebanon expressed concern for potential conflicts during construction. To address the city’s concern’s Bayer Becker’s survey crews worked with the City of Lebanon and the Ohio Utility Protection Service to mark the location of the existing underground utilities located within the project area. After the marked utilities were located by Bayer Becker’s survey crews, Bayer Becker’s project engineer walked the length of the project to verify all existing utilities were represented on the base sheets ensuring the new design took the existing locations into consideration. The collaborative process between our field crews and office staff helped ensure no conflicts existed between the planned and existing utilities on Deerfield Road and resulted in a successful project for the City of Lebanon.
